Specifications and Installation Instructions
The RetroZone™ Brand 35136 3 wire motors are designed to replace DuroZone 35136 and RM-PMB damper motors and are used with PMB Series Multi Blade rectangular Dampers.
Please review these specifications and dimensions carefully to ensure correct fit and function for your application.
SPECIFICATIONS:
• Power Supply: 24 VAC, 50/60 Hz 6 W
• Control: 3-wire on/off
• Angle of Rotation: 45º CAM setting via 2 limit switches. CAM adjustable for 40 - 180º.
• Torque/Speed: 1 N.m. (140 oz. in.)/2.2 RPM at 60 Hz
• Installation: Damper shaft with slot width 4.7 mm

INSTALLATION:
CAUTION - Disconnect power supply before connecting motor wiring to prevent electrical shock or equipment damage.
• Prior to replacing your damper motor, be sure to turn off all incoming electrical power.
• Disconnect the wires from the Terminal Block, noting terminal positions of the wires.
Wiring from Panel to Motor:
• M1 or common to Durozone Motor 1
• M4 or norm open (NO) or power to close (PC) to Durozone Motor 4
• R under thermostat input to Durozone Motor 2
Note: on older motors with 5 terminals, 2 and 5 on the old motor were connected, now just use terminal 2. The above hook ups put 24vac power on terminals 1 and 2 all the time; this should cause the damper to close. When power is switched to Motor 4, damper should open.
Test: Now, with all thermostats Off and the HVAC unit at rest, damper should be open. Many customers think the dampers should be closed until its zone calls for air, but this is not true-all modern zone control systems leave all the dampers open all the time, unless another zone calls for air; only then will dampers serving unused zones close.
3. Remove but DO NOT discard the 2 Mounting Screws. DO NOT remove the Mounting Plate. Remove, but DO NOT discard the Current Motor.
4. To remove the Coupling from the Motor, loosen the Set Screw on the Coupling until it can be pulled off of the Motor Shaft. DO NOT discard the Coupling, only discard the Motor.
5. To secure the Coupling to the replacement 45º Motor properly, we recommend placing a 3/16” hex key between the Red Cam and the Coupling as a spacer. Note orientation of the Coupling Alignment to that of the Motor Assembly. Tighten the Set Screw and remove the hex key.
6. With the Damper Blades in the “Open” Position, insert the Motor Assembly and carefully slide Coupling onto the Blade Shaft. Ensure the Blade Shaft and Motor Coupling engage properly.
7. Once the Motor Coupling and the Blade Shaft have engaged, secure the Motor to the Mounting Plate with the 2 Mounting Screws removed from Step-3.
8. Reconnect wires to the Terminal Block as noted in Step-2. If the Motor or Damper does not operate as required, please contact RetroZone™ as listed below.
